This stock doubled since we recommended it back in May. At that time it was less than $10. Then in July, we discussed the buy opportunity when SoundHound AI was at $11.

This week (September 2025), SOUN lept from $13 to $15, but SOUN is on a two-day tumble…what’s happening?

SoundHound AI (SOUN) has had a wild ride lately—and the recent two-day tumble is tied directly to its latest strategic move.

What Triggered the Drop in SoundHound AI?
Earlier this week, SoundHound announced its acquisition of Interactions, a customer experience AI company known for blending automation with human-in-the-loop support. While this deal aligns with SoundHound’s long-term strategy—similar to its earlier acquisitions of Amelia and SYNQ3—the market reacted cautiously, sending SOUN down about 5% immediately after the news.
Analyst Take: Strategic, Not Concerning
Northland analyst Michael Latimore sees the acquisition as a smart play. Interactions brings:
- A strong enterprise client base
- Hybrid AI-human support systems
- Estimated revenue of $25–30 million
Latimore believes this deal strengthens SoundHound’s position in voice AI and workflow orchestration, especially as enterprise demand grows. He even raised his price target from $14.50 to $15.50, maintaining a Buy rating.
Why the Sell-Off Then?
Investors may be reacting to:
- Short-term dilution fears from the $60M cash outlay
- Concerns about integration risk or slower profitability
- General market volatility around AI stocks
But the fundamentals haven’t changed—SoundHound is still executing its playbook: acquire, integrate, and scale.
What’s Next?
With strong analyst backing and a growing enterprise footprint, SOUN could rebound once the dust settles. The current dip may be a buy-the-pullback opportunity for long-term investors who believe in its voice AI thesis.
